Caring for Climate:
First Meeting of Signatories
20-21 October, UN Palais des Nations, Geneva
The United Nations Global Compact in cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development convenes the first meeting of Caring for Climate signatories on 20-21 October 2008 at UN Headquarters in Geneva.
The meeting brings together more than 200 business executives with government and UN officials and climate experts involved in designing the post-Kyoto climate framework.
Participants will take stock of the progress made and share experiences in implementing climate strategies, lowering risk exposure and increasing business opportunities.
Several cutting-edge studies on corporate climate practices will be presented for discussion by GlobeScan, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, the Yale University Center for Business and Environment, the Centre for Social Markets and the UN Principles for Responsible Investment.
New Caring for Climate signatories will be welcomed and recognized in a special opening ceremony during the meeting.
This is a private, invitation-only event for Caring for Climate signatories. To become a Caring for Climate signatory and attend the event, companies are invited to send an email indicating the endorsement of the Caring for Climate statement by a CEO-level executive to climatechange@unglobalcompact.org.
